I am offering a captive bred female Armored Pricklenape Acanthosaura armata in the high green color morph. This beautiful individual displays exceptionally vibrant, saturated coloration that presents particularly impressively in a properly lit terrarium. Armored Pricklenapes are fascinating lizards originating from the humid rainforests of Southeast Asia, captive bred and perfectly adapted to terrarium life. The Armored Pricklenape originates from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar, where it inhabits moist rainforests and mountainous areas up to approximately 800 meters elevation. The species is distinguished by its characteristic ridge of elongated scales forming spiny projections that give it its distinctive appearance. The high green morph displays exceptionally bright, emerald coloration that is particularly attractive and sought after by breeders. Acanthosaura armata is an arboreal lizard that spends most of its time on branches and tree trunks in the middle and lower forest canopy. It is active during daylight hours, particularly in the morning and afternoon when it basks in the sun. In terms of temperament, this is a calm animal that with regular contact can become quite trusting, though it maintains natural caution. Armored Pricklenapes are insectivorous and readily accept a varied diet consisting of crickets, roaches, mealworms, and other invertebrates appropriate to their size. Adult individuals should be fed every 2-3 days, offering a portion appropriate to the lizard's size. Juveniles are fed more frequently, daily or every other day. It is important to vary the diet and dust all feeders with calcium and vitamin supplements. For an adult Armored Pricklenape, a terrarium with minimum dimensions of 80x50x100 cm is recommended, with vertical dominance due to its arboreal lifestyle. Daytime temperature should be 26-28°C with a basking spot up to 32-35°C, at night temperature can drop to 20-22°C. Humidity should be maintained at 70-80% while ensuring good ventilation. UVB 5.0-10.0 lighting is essential, along with numerous climbing branches, live or artificial plants, and a water dish for drinking and bathing. This female comes from captive breeding, is healthy and well acclimated to terrarium conditions. She is an excellent choice for keepers with experience in arboreal lizard husbandry who wish to enrich their collection with a spectacular species from the Indo-Malayan region.
