Description

We are pleased to present an exceptional captive bred female Ball Python (Python regius) combining three stunning morphs: Banana, Pied, and Black Pastel. This four-month-old specimen currently weighs 300 grams and represents one of the most sought-after color combinations in ball python breeding. The young female originates from responsible captive breeding and is in excellent condition. The Ball Python is native to West and Central Africa, where it inhabits savannas and grassland areas. This species is renowned for its docile temperament and relatively manageable size, making it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced keepers. The Banana Pied Black Pastel combination creates a spectacular blend of the yellow and white patches characteristic of Pied with the darker contrast of Black Pastel and the vibrant yellows of Banana. This triple-gene morph showcases a unique pattern and intense coloration that will continue to develop and intensify with age. Ball Pythons are terrestrial snakes with crepuscular to nocturnal activity patterns, though juveniles may display some daytime activity. They are characterized by a calm temperament and, after a brief acclimation period, readily tolerate gentle handling. This female is already well-acclimated and shows no signs of stress during careful interaction with humans. As a strictly terrestrial species, she prefers exploring ground level and utilizing available hides throughout her enclosure. This young female feeds regularly and is currently being offered appropriately-sized frozen-thawed mouse pinkies or fuzzies every 7-10 days. She feeds without hesitation and does not require live prey. As she grows, she will gradually transition to larger rodents, eventually being established on adult mice and small rats. The python has a robust feeding response and exhibits no feeding difficulties whatsoever. For a Ball Python of this age, we recommend a minimum enclosure size of 32x16x16 inches, which should ultimately be upgraded to 40x20x20 inches for an adult specimen. The basking spot temperature should be maintained at 88-90°F, with the cool side at 78-82°F, and nighttime temperatures dropping to 75-78°F. Humidity should be kept at 50-60%, increasing to 70% during shedding cycles. UVB lighting is not essential but can be beneficial. Recommended substrates include coconut fiber or aspen shavings, and the enclosure should contain at least two hides on both the warm and cool sides, plus a constant supply of fresh water. The female comes with complete breeding documentation including hatch records confirming her date of birth and origin from legal captive breeding. She is healthy, sheds regularly, and shows no health concerns. I am available to provide ongoing support and guidance to new keepers and am happy to share detailed information about the continued care of this magnificent specimen.
